Clarinet Manager: Execution of Tests

ATM, LAN & WAN Interfaces

  • Multiple Interfaces: support up to 7 interfaces
  • Versatile hardware management:
    • Clarinet-Book ATM
    • Clarinet-Book ISDN, E1/T1, U/S-T
    • Clarinet-Book Ethernet
    • Clarinet-Book Vseries
    • Clarinet-Book ADSL

Test Configuration

  • Definition of profile and filter files from provided templates.
  • GUI-Windows dialogue.
  • Copy/Paste function to duplicate repetitive fields.

Test Execution

  • Manual launching
  • Repetition and chaining.
  • Several interfaces of different types simultaneously supported

Monitoring Functions

Events Generation

  • Time-stamping with resolution of 0.1 millisecond (LAN-WAN) or 0.1 microsecond (ATM).
  • The events report the physical state (ATM, ISDN, Vseries), bop framing, Bert counting....
  • Events from the 7 interfaces merged into a single flow of events sorted by time

Events Recording

  • Events recorded in real-time directly on hard-disk under their native format (binary data + date).
  • Recording modes: overwrite, append, circular
  • Filtering capabilities

Events Display

  • Event-editor displays the events by reading the events on hard-disk :
    • Protocol events (ATM cells, Asynchronous characters, HDLC frame, Ethernet 802.3 frames ISDN, QSIG, X25, Frame Relay, IP/IPX, TCP, H323, SIP, X224/X225, V120, PPP, LCP, GSM, SS7, V5 and a lot of variations are decoded and translated under protocol strings.
    • The protocol stack specification provides an unlimited number of combinations : decoding simultaneously B and D channels, PPP on asynchronous links or in ISDN-B channels, IP/TCP, H323 on Ethernet links, PDU on ATM........
    • Statistics events (counters specified by the user) can be displayed under history or counter mode
  • Editing commands and facilities
  • Filtering capabilities
