Manager - profile sequencing

A profile includes all the information used by the MANAGER to manage the test.

Execution of a profile concerns all the active CLARINET boards defined in the profile file and allotted to the MANAGER which launches the profile.

Beginning of profile

Execution of a profile begins immediately after launching by the command Run Profile.

The profile execution causes the launching of all the associated processes.

The manual commands relative to the MANAGER are configured with the Monitoring or Simulation mode.

Duration of profile

The profile execution is active during at least a minimum period specified by the Min duration parameter. The indication of profile activity is done in the protocol event file by the system event Monitoring ON and Monitoring OFF. Beyond this duration, execution ends when the profile end of execution condition is reached.

End of profile execution

The end of execution condition depends on the interface operating mode (monitoring or simulation).

  • Monitoring mode: Execution ends on a profile if one of the following conditions occurs:
    • Manual command = Quit (MANAGER function key).
    • Manual command = Next (MANAGER function key) to move to the next profile.
    • the minimum duration of the profile is exceeded.
    • the file maximum size (if this value is limited) is reached in Overwrite or Append recording mode.
  • Simulation mode: Execution ends on a profile if one of the following conditions occurs:
    • Manual command = Quit (MANAGER function key).
    • Manual command = Next (MANAGER function key) to move to the next profile.
    • the file maximum size (if this value is limited) is reached in Overwrite or Append recording mode.
    • the minimum profile duration is exceeded and all the incoming or outgoing communications are ended
    • the minimum profile duration is exceeded and all data source simulations (BERT or X25) are ended.

When the profile manages several interfaces, the conditions are applied on all the interfaces.
