Manager - PDU events generation

The use of a filter may enable the generation of Protocol Data Unit events from processing of event data fields according to a protocol layer N, which uses the Segmentation /Reassembly capability.

PDU's events will need to be generated by the protocol filter while RECORDING protocol events:

  • On-Line recording: The protocol filter is defined in the profile to be executed.
  • Off_Line recording: The protocol filter is executed on an already existing event file.

The protocol stack of the filter file includes:

  • A protocol at layer N supporting the Segmentation /Reassembly capability.
  • A protocol at layer N+1.

Each PDU event contains :

  • the event type.
  • the event length.
  • the PDU data zone.
  • the absolute date with 0.1 ms definition.

The date associated with each PDU event is the date of the last event of lower layer used to generate it.
