Manager - associated programsThe configuration of PROCESSes necessary to implement the analysis and simulation functions, is defined by the profile and the initialization file.Dedicated configurations use the associated COMPANION and PARTNER programs. The COMPANION'sThe COMPANION's are optional programs associated with profile execution: they are launched by the MANAGER at different phases of profile execution. Their characteristics can be configured by the user. For example, the standard COMPANION launched at the beginning of profile execution is often an EVENT-EDITOR in Auto-Scrolling mode on the current event file to display the events on the screen. This reproduces the standard display functions of a protocol analyzer-simulator. Simple COMPANION programs realizing statistics on events or event editing can be developed by using the CLARINET-API, level 1. The PARTNER'sThe PARTNER's are optional programs taking part in profile execution. They communicate with the MANAGER through MAILBOX. They are developed by using the CLARINET-API, level 2. PARTNER programs realizing series of tests for protocol validation can be developed by using the CLARINET-API, level 2. Execution of profiles with associated programsAssociated programs of the PARTNER or COMPANION type are launched automatically by the profiles. The mechanisms are described in the CLARINET-API, Level 2. The execution of associated programs can generate event files of specific type and associated filters are linked to this type. Development of user programs: the CLARINET-APIA CLARINET development kit enables development of programs as well as enabling them to be run as associated programs. The development kit includes several levels according to the developments to be carried out.
