ISDN Simulator: BERT source operation

The results are produced according to the CCITT G821 recommendation and the CNET/LAB/208 application note, 3rd edition.

Real time events are supplied at beginning of BERT measure and at each bit error detection.
There are BERT 511, BERT 2047 and BERT 2**15 sources available.
With the BERT 511+, BERT 2047+ and BERT 2**15+ sources, an additional event is generated upon detection of each error; this event includes the counter values of errored bits and errored blocks.

Result events are supplied:

  • at the end of each elementary period of measure EPM (60 seconds without errors).
  • at the end of each measurement period (end of communication in general).

The BERT measurement duration is strictly equal to the value specified as Data state duration in a communication.
