Filter editor protocol: General specifications
General info
Description. The content can be customised to describe
briefly the characteristics of the current filter with an ASCII character
string.
Protocol Specifications... To define the protocol stacks used to
decode and select events.
Filter sets... To define groups of interfaces with the
same specifications.
Filter Actions
List of actions. The list can be composed of one or
several action(s), or empty.
The lines of the list with the None indication are not
used.
Filter actions of same type must be defined contiguously.
The highlighted action is the current one, whose type can be selected from
a choice list. The specifications of the current action can be edited.
An action type can be absent from the
list, and then there is not any filtering of this type carried out for the
events of the interface(s) referenced in the Filter sets.
The same type of action can be included in the list several times, and
that allows:
- to cascade the selecting conditions related to the differents
actions of the same type
( then a logical AND operation is used ).
- to define the selecting conditions for each Filter set.
The Copy filter action and Paste filter action functions
allow to duplicate the specifications of an action to an other one (in the
same filter or a different one), whatever its type is.
Edit. Provides access to the specifications of
the current action, which are selecting conditions to be possibly applied
on events:
Replace. To replace the type of the current action
by an other one.
The attached selection conditions are kept inchanged.
Up. To move up the current filter action
within the list.
Down. To move down the current filter action
within the list.
