Installation of Clarinet Development TTCN

This package is installed from a setup program:

The wizard takes you through a series of dialog boxes that prompt for setup information :

  • Clarinet Packages to install:

    • API 32 bits: mandatory for C programming

    • Samples: optional for C programming
    • Documentation: optional for C programming
    • TTCN IS 5.2 : the Clarinet-TTCN Compiler mandatory for TTCN development
  • Additional packages to install independently:

    • Microsoft Visual C/C++ (to be purchased from Microsoft dealer)
    • Da-Vinci Leonardo Editor (provided freely by Acacia with each Clarinet Dev-TTCN package after returning the coupon)

What is created?

The installation of Clarinet Development creates the following directories  under the path selected during installation (default is C:\Clarinet):

  • Cladsp32 for CLARINET-API 32 bits operation
  • Cladev32 includes basic application examples developped with Clarinet-API 32 bits
  • Cladoc is for reference documentation

A shortcut to the Clarinet TTCN compiler is created in the Windows group selected during installation.

The installation of Clarinet Development TTCN creates the following entry in the list of installed packages displayed by Clarinet-Init:

  • Clarinet API-TTCN
    • Version 10.x

Options in Visual C/C++

At the end of the installation, the last panel displays the path to add to the Visual C/C++ directories options:

  • Library files:
    • C:\Clarinet\Cladsp32\Lib
  • Include files
    • C:\Clarinet\Cladsp32

Security Key

Execution and Installation of TTCN-Compiler of Clarinet Development is controlled by a Security-key. The passwords should be got from Acacia before starting installation by sending the form attached to the delivery note.

For the  execution of Clarinet TTCN-Compiler, the security key has to be connected on the parallel port and programmed with passwords. (see procedure notice added with the security key and Clarinet Help).

License agreement

The use of the ACACIA software programs, delivered on this CD-ROM, requires compliance with the general conditions of the CLARINET SOFTWARE USE LICENCE.

The use of the Da Vinci software programs requires compliance with the general conditions of the "Leonardo Editor" License Agreement.

Da Vinci Communications licence file

Execution of Leonardo Base Editor from Da Vinci Communications is controlled by a licence file The licence file should be got by email from Acacia by sending the coupon attached to the delivery note.

The LeonardoEditorBase.lic file provided by email has to be copied into the \windows directory (Windows 95/98/2000) or into the users home directory $SystemRoot/Profiles/<user_name> (Windows NT).
