Introduction to Boot Flash

Clarinet Book includes a flash memory whose boot version is automatically updated (Clarinet Run-time version 8.4 or greater) or can be updated (if initiated by ACACIA support).

Provided package until V8.3

Access to the Boot flash is provided by the BOOTUPDATE.EXE program. It is located in the \FLASH\DISK1 directory of the Clarinet RUN-TIME software package.

Boot flashing procedure

  1. The Clarinet Book have been previously recognised on the SCSI bus by Windows.
  2. The BOOTUPDATE.EXE program is launched.
  3. The boot updating process is carried out just after validation.
  4. The Boot Flash window reports:
    • the significant information fields and the updating status for each Clarinet Book of the configuration.
    • the execution trace of the BOOTUPDATE.EXE program. The trace can be copied (by Ctrl C) and pasted (by Ctrl V) in a text file if necessary.
