Filter protocol - BOP events format

There are two execution Formats; one for the Display type action(s) and the other one for the Record type action(s). The filter file includes the description of these two formats in relation with the protocol specifications. The format descriptions are used when a filter is applied.

Record action

The Record action format defines recording specifications of events in term of Data field:

  • the decoding level used for setting the Data field.
  • the maximum length of Data field to be recorded.

Display action

The Display action is realized by a decoding of the event into ASCII lines corresponding to each decoding level specified.

The format specifications concern the character-string produced by each level to present Control field and Data field.

Display action: format

The display format defines the maximum decoding level used for the display:
the Control fields are displayed up to this level.
the Data field relative to this level is displayed.

Display action: control field format

The decodings of each level are displayed independently:
enabled by the following modes:

  • Identified: partially decoded.
  • Detailed: fully decoded.
  • Hexa: hexadecimal display.
  • disabled by the None mode.

Display action: data field format

Data field of the upper decoding level is displayed in a code:

  • Ascii.
  • Hexa.
  • Ebcdic.

Data field of the upper decoding level can be truncated.
