Filter editor protocol: Analog Measurement

Processsing the Clarinet event file

Filter can be applied either on-line at the end of the profile execution with configuration file set as WI_ANALOG by Clarinet-Init or off-line with Filter-Run Protocol.

Received voice

Definition of the monitored voice parameters and the output file.

Codec. For selecting the default encoding specifications of the samples in the Byte-TS or the RTP data flows.
Recognizing a payload type for a RTP data flow automatically results in the use of the relevant encoding specifications.

Jitter Buffer Size. in use only for RTP data packets flow for re-ordering.

Output file. Parameters of the output file(s).wav to be automatically generated .

  • File name. For editing the basename of the wav file(s), which will be generated (or overwritten)  in the working directory.
The file name should be empty to inhibit the file generating.
access to the choice list of the files located in the working directory.
The full name of the generated file.wav will include:
    • _Sxxxx with xxxx as the UDP source port number in case of RTP flow, 0 otherwise
    • _Dxxxx with xxxx as the UDP destination port number in case of RTP flow, 0 otherwise
    • _i with i as index of different issues.
Different indexes are used if both T and R directions and same '_Sx_Dx'.
  • Codec. For selecting the encoding specifications of the file.wav.

Quality Measurement

The flow of samples (RTP packets/Byte TS events)  is processed according to the following rules:

  •  no "reference file" : basic QoS events are systematically generated (each RTP packets/Byte TS events)
  • one  valid file name is specified in the "reference file" area: the processing  starts (Basic QoS events are generated) only while the heading sequence of samples included in the reference file  is detected in the flow of samples.
  • Synchro is selected, the processing  starts only while the sequence of samples included in the "synchro" pattern  is detected in the flow of samples.

Definition of the type and parameters of the voice QoS measurement.

Mode.  How the QoS measurement events are generated

  • Off. No QoS measurement events generated.
  • One time. QoS measurement events generated.
When a wav reference file is specified, it is supposed to be sent for one time.
  • Continuous. QoS measurement events generated.
When a wav reference file is specified, it is supposed to be continuously sent.
  • Auto. QoS measurement events generated according to call simulation and PESQ data source connected (over TDM Bearer channel or RTP flow). The Com ID value is inserted in the QoS events.
  • Synchro

  • No. No synchro sequence is used.
  • Yes. The measurement is triggered by a  sequence of samples  transmitted by Clarinet prior to the wav file.
  • Reference file. Name of the reference file:

    • File name. For editing the name of the file.wav, located in the working directory.
access to the choice list of the files located in the working directory.
    • Codec. For selecting the encoding specifications of the file.wav.
Automatically set by default to the actual encoding type of the selected file.

PSQM. Perceptual Speech Quality Measurement according to ITU-P861.

    • No. PSQM is not used.
    • Yes. PSQM measurement events generated. Needs a reference file.

PESQ. Perceptual Evaluation of Speech Quality according to ITU-P862.

    • No. PESQ is not used
    • Yes. PESQ measurement events generated. Needs a reference file.

Delay between Meas. Duration for cyclic generation of the Average result events.

    Reset values

    • No Values of the Average result events are not reset at every cycle.
    • Yes Values of the Average result events are reset at every cycle.
