IP profile editor: Authentication options

Authentication type. Parameter for the negotiation of LCP Authentication-Protocol configuration option, which is carried out only if the value is different from the default one.
The selected authentication protocol, may be used after the successful negotiation and require the peer entity to authenticate itself.

  • None. by default, authentication is not required.
  • PAP. Password Authentication Protocol.
  • CHAP. Challenge-Handshake Authentication Protocol. The MD5 algorithm (RFC 1321) is used.
  • Restart counter. Indicates the number of Request packets sent without receiving a Response packet before assuming that the peer is unable to respond. Typical value is 10.

    Username. 30 characters maximum.

    Password. 30 characters maximum.
