IP profile editor: Protocol stacks

Protocol layer items. A set of significant buttons are displayed in the left side of the panel..
According to the current state of the IP protocol stack:

  • Some of them are displayed available for selection (Button Off), and can be selected to be added at the top of the protocol stack by the Add button.
  • The others cannot be used.

Protocol Stack. From the current state, the protocol stack can be modified to include more or less layers by adding (Add button) or removing (Remove button) them at the top position.

Add. To add an available protocol layer item at the top of the protocol stack.

Remove. To remove the protocol top layer from the protocol stack.

IP profile selection status

  • The IP (resp TCP/UDP / H323 / SIP) Profile Selected indication is displayed if the relevant protocol stack is constituted.
  • Otherwise, the No IP Profile Selected indication is displayed.
  • They are different types of protocol stacks available according to the used Clarinet interface type:

    • IP over Ethernet. on Clarinet LAN (Ethernet AUI, 10B2, 10BT), and based on MAC IEEE 802.3 frames.
    • IP over V120. on Clarinet ISDN (E1, T1, U, S/T with ISDN protocols or Trunk E1/T1), and based on V120 frames in a bearer channel.
    • IP over PPP. based on PPP frames in a bearer channel.
      on Clarinet ISDN (E1, T1, U, S/T with ISDN protocols or Trunk E1/T1) or Clarinet Vseries, and Clarinet ADSL.
    • IP over ATM. on Clarinet ATM (E3 and STM1/STS3c).
