Profile editor: General specifications

Description. The content can be customised to describe briefly the characteristics of the current profile with an ASCII character string.

Execution

To define execution parameters of the profile as sequencing, repetition and chaining options.

Min duration. The profile is executed at least during a minimum duration. When this time is over, the profile enters in the state where an End of execution condition stops the profile execution.
An empty field means an infinite value of time.

Execution number. Number of consecutive executions of the same profile.

Next profile. Name of the profile file to be executed subsequent to the current profile.

Record

To configure the event files to be generated in protocol and/or statistics mode

Protocol file. Name of the event file in which the protocol events are recorded in their native format during execution of the current profile. File located in the working directory.
If this field is empty, no protocol recording is carried out.
access to the choice list of files of this type located in the working directory.

Statistics file. Name of the event file in which the statistics events are recorded after been generated during execution of the current profile. File located in the working directory.
If this field is empty, no statistics recording is carried out.
access to the choice list of files of this type located in the working directory.

Recording mode. There are different modes for recording the event file:

  • Overwrite. The event file is overwritten at each beginning of profile execution.
  • Append. The generated events are added to the file in append mode.
  • Circular. The file is a circular buffer.
  • File max size. Maximum size of the recorded event file.
A null field indicates that there is no defined limit.
In Overwrite or Append modes, the End of execution condition occurs when the maximum size is reached.
In Circular mode, the field indicates the size of the event file.

    Filters

To define the attached filters (protocol and/or statistics).

Protocol filter. Filter file name whose Record and Display specifications are applied on protocol events during the profile execution. File located in the working directory.
if no file name is defined, all events are recorded and the Display specifications of the default filter defined in the current initialization file are used, if it is present in the working directory.
access to the choice list of files of this type located in the working directory.

Statistics filter. Filter file name whose Record and Display specifications are applied on protocol events during the profile execution. File located in the working directory.
if no file name is defined, the Record and Display specifications of a default filter is used.
Definition of a filter name is strongly advised for customized counting specifications.
access to the choice list of files of this type located in the working directory.
