How to connect Byte-TS / Wave file resources to a B channel in ISDN simulation

Clarinet Run-time simulation allows to manage 64 Kbits data source (speech file, ...) resources to be connected to after the establishment of the communications.

Connecting the unit and setting the test conditions:

The connections of Clarinet-Book USB units and the settings of test conditions for a basic simulation are detailed in the following pages:

Profile resulting from the wizard is ready for generating one outgoing call and accepting incoming calls in ISDN Simulation.

Transmit / Receive voice file over the B channel established by Outgoing call COM#1

Edit the profile resulting from selection by the wizard in the template list:

  • access to Generator èCOM#1  èEdit and select Active source = Byte-TS /Wav
  • then a complementary File selection must be accessed :
Transmit Wave file A wav file located in the working directory, and its parameters (synchro, local codec automatically set by default to the actual encoding type of the selected file).
Options of tramsission mode are available.
Transmit Byte-TS file A Clarinet protocol event file located in the working directory, generated during a previous profile execution, and including the Byte-TS events (previously monitored either from either T or R direction) to be transmitted.
Options of tramsission mode are available.
Receive Wave file The file will be generated (or overwritten) in the working directory, according to the selected parameters (synchro, local codec).
  • a Network Codec must be selected.

Save the profile:

  • ProfileèSave asèfilename.acp.

After the establishment of the B channel, depending on the File selection type, either the voice samples of the speech file will be transmitted in sequence, or/and the received voice samples will be recorded in the receive file.

The recorded Clarinet protocol event file basically includes (without any filtering of record type) the transmitted/received voice samples grouped in Byte-TS events (see Byte-TS events).
