Type of the physical interface.
SL protocol stack (or DL protocol stack)
The decoding structure uses a
protocol stack for frame events:
- A stack includes several protocol layers used as decoding
levels.
- With the principle of successive encapsulation, the control
field (protocol fields) and the data field, conveying data, can be
considered at each decoding level.
- The stack can include several parallel trees at a layer when the
lower layer includes a multiplex of services identified by a protocol
field.
The sizing has been realized with 16 levels and 4 trees maximum.
Application to the OSI protocols enable one to match the OSI layers and
the decoding levels.
The SL/DL protocol stack is
defined by layers, and includes one or several protocol reference(s).
The highlighted protocol reference is the current one, with the following display rules:
-
-Di- None. The protocol layer numbered i
is not used.
-
-Di- Protocol (param). The protocol reference is used at layer
numbered i.
For some protocols, reminder of the used protocol
parameter is displayed between brackets.
Replace... To replace the current protocol reference by an other one
selected in a choice list.
Insert... To insert a new protocol
reference at the related layer.
Delete To delete the current protocol reference.
