IP profile editor: LCP options

Frame Check Sequence. Parameter for the negotiation of the FCS-Alternatives configuration option, which is carried out only if the value is different from Initial Frame Check Sequence.
FCS type of the PPP frames to be received during the Authentication and Network-Layer Protocol phases.

  • Null. No FCS added.
  • CCITT 16-bit (default). 16 bits FCS.
  • CCITT 32-bit. 32 bits FCS.
  • Max Receive Unit. Specifies the maximum number of octets to be received in the Information and Padding fields.
    The negotiation of the MRU configuration option is carried out only if the value is different from the default one = 1500.

    Use Magic Number. The MN configuration option provides a method (sending unique random number) to detect looped-back links.

  • Yes. Configuration option is negotiated.
  • No. Configuration option is not used. Default.
  • Use Quality protocol. not used.

    Use Protocol Field Compression. The two octet PPP Protocol field of the recieved frames can be compressed into a single octet after negotiation of the PFC configuration option.

  • Yes. Configuration option is negotiated.
  • No. Configuration option is not used. Default.
  • Use Add-Ctrl Field Compression. The Address and Control fields of the recieved frames can be compressed after negotiation of the ACFC configuration option.

  • Yes. Configuration option is negotiated.
  • No. Configuration option is not used. Default.
  • Async Control Character Map. Optional 32 bits map used for control character transparency on a stream of received asynchronous characters (V120).
    The negotiation of LCP ACCM configuration option is carried out only if the receiving ACCM is different from the default one = 0xffffffff (hexa notation).
