ISDN signalling behaviour: Responder

Note: The items marked (emu) are relevant to the Q931 emulator behaviour.

Accept incoming calls (emu). Configuration of the Responder behaviour.

  • No. The incoming call are rejected.
  • Yes. The incoming calls are accepted.
  • If IE in SETUP. An incoming call is accepted only if the SETUP message includes a certain IE configuration.
  • IE(s)... Optional specification of IE which must be included in the incoming SETUP message for the call to be accepted.

    Incoming call rejected

Call clearing (emu). With the following step in sequence:

    • Send RELEASE COMPLETE... Access to editing the attached buffer of IE(s).
      Message transmission if validation
      • No. The related message will not be sent.
No response to incoming SETUP (ETSI 5.2.2a behaviour).
      • Yes. The message will be sent in sequence.
Response to incoming SETUP (ETSI 5.2.2b behaviour).

Incoming call accepted - Call establishment

With the following steps in sequence:

    • Send message. Validation of the transmission of the related message.
      • No. The message will not be sent.
      • Yes. The message will be sent in sequence.
      • If no SC. Only for SETUP ACK.
The message will be sent in sequence only if the Sending Complete IE is not present in the incoming SETUP.
    • Send SETUP ACK... (emu) Message transmission if validation.
Access to editing the attached buffer of IE(s).
    • Send CALL PROC... (emu) Message transmission if validation.
Access to editing the attached buffer of IE(s).
    • Send PROGRESS... (emu) Message transmission if validation.
Access to editing the attached buffer of IE(s).
    • Send ALERTING... (emu) Message transmission if validation.
Access to editing the attached buffer of IE(s).
    • Delay before CONNECT. Delay before sending the CONNECT message (if to be sent), starting from the reception of the incoming SETUP message.
An empty field means an infinite value of time.
If the Outgoing call active source is used, the delay is before the generation of the outgoing SETUP.
    • Send CONNECT... Message transmission after delay.
Access to editing the attached buffer of IE(s).

Establishment source. Source to be connected in the switched B channel(s) during the establishment state of the communication:

          None No data source connected.
      Loop Data echoed TD-RD.
Handset To use the telephone handset (Speaker + Micro) connected to the HANDSET connector.
A Cofidec resource is automatically connected and used.
Analog 1 Analog Input/Output 1 available on the I/0 connector.
A Cofidec resource is automatically connected and used.
    * Not supported by Clarinet-Book USB type.
Analog 2 Analog Input/Output 2 available on the I/0 connector.
A Cofidec resource is automatically connected and used.
    * Not supported by Clarinet-Book USB type.

BERT 2**15 Bit error rate test - 32767 bits pattern.
BERT 2**15+ Bit error rate test - 32767 bits pattern with error counter details.
TRANSIT TRANSIT interface with selection of the used TS's.
TRANSDATA TRANSDATA interface with automatic TS switching from/to the current interface.
Cofidec 1 Digital input/output of the Cofidec 1.
Cofidec 2 Digital input/output of the Cofidec 2.
Byte-TS /Wav Byte-TS or wav file selected from a choice list.
64 Kbits data source (as speech, ...).

Source selection. For some data source type, a complementary selection area must be accessed.

Incoming call accepted - Active state

Default behaviour. with the specification of the active source to be connected and  the data state duration parameters.

    • Connect... active source. Source to be connected in the switched B channel(s) during the active state of the communication:
    • Data state duration. If this duration expires, the call is automatically cleared.
An empty field means an infinite value of time.

Downloaded behaviour. The active source to be connected and the data state duration can be defined in the User-User IE of the incoming SETUP by a character string under the following conditions:

    • string structure: <ACTIVE SOURCE > <DURATION> with uppercase charracters; the both fields are separated by one SPACE character.
    • The string is placed at the beginning of the "User information" field. It may be followed by comments, provided that a * character separator is added.
    • [d] optional data state duration: If this duration expires, the call is automatically cleared.
    • OUTj, COMj as outgoing communication n° j.

Send INFORMATION... An optional sequence of INFORMATION messages can be automatically transmitted during the Active state.

Incoming call accepted - Call clearing

With the following steps in sequence:
    • If normal clearing, Send DISC/RELEASE. Message transmission, depending on which party clears the call.
Access to editing the IE buffer attached to the DISCONNECT message.
    • If resource unavailable, Send DISC/RELEASE. Message transmission if resource unavailable (as channel or data source).
Access to editing the attached buffer of IE(s).

    Copy/Paste functions

The Copy ISDN IE buffer and Paste ISDN IE buffer functions allow to duplicate the contents of a particular message to an other one (in the same profile or a different one).
