Profile editor: SS#7 specifications

Interface init. Selection of the physical interface type.

  • E1. CEPT Trunk E1.
  • T1. North-American Trunk T1.
  • Options. The options of the physical interface.

Emulation mode. The behaviour of the Clarinet interface :

  • Monitor. The both directions of the Clarinet interface are monitored in the same time with a common time-stamping.
  • Two Signalling Points. Clarinet interface can emulates up to two Signalling Points, one on each of the two channels. The monitoring function is simultaneously active.
  • One SP + B Channels. Clarinet interface emulates a single Signalling Point on the first signalling channel, and the second channel can be only used as a bearer channel. The monitoring function is simultaneously active.
  • Interface spec... Configuration of the physical interface.

    Behaviour of a signalling channel

The behaviour of each channel can be independently defined:

Protocol variant. Type of the implementation, which should be in accordance with some filter specifications (protocol parameters SS7 L3).

  • ITU-T
  • ANSI
  • ITU-T UK
  • ITU-T SPIROU
  • ITU-T FT-VN7
  • Emulator config... Relating to the selected channel.
When Clarinet emulates a Signalling Point, the specification of the parameters of the signalling protocol (MTP-2, MTP-3, SCCP, ISUP, TCAP...).

ISUP. Signalling behaviour. Configuration of the simulation (built-in simulator) on the selected channel :

    • Generator. Specification of the outgoing calls of the SS#7 ISUP Call built-in simulator.
      • Yes. The further specifications are used.
      • No. The generator behaviour is inhibited. The outgoing calls are globally de-selected.
    • Responder. Specification of the behaviour of the SS#7 ISUP Call built-in simulator for incoming calls.
      • Yes. An incoming call is accepted according to the further specification.
      • No. An incoming call is rejected according to the further specification.
    • Miscellaneous. Specification of various messages to be sent manually, and then initialising a service.

User Behaviour. Configuration of the programmable simulation on the selected channel :

    • User Program. The simulation behaviour is carried out by the execution of a user-developed program in C language.
    • TTCN User Program. Simulation defined by an Executable Test Suites resulting from TTCN compilation.
