How to simulate V5.1 - AN side over E1 interface

Simulation of a V5 AN equipment is one of the features of the Clarinet Run-Time.

Connecting the unit

The Clarinet Book USB E1/T1 which simulates the AN side in front of a LE, uses the B port "From LE" .

The Clarinet-Book can be connected to the E1 interface in:

Creating the profile for V5.1 AN simulation

A new profile can be created with the Wizard from the Template list by selecting:

  • Profile->New->V5......See: building
  • Profile with a description including ISDN, Simu, AN, PH=E1 SL=V5.1
  • Filter with a description including SL= V5

Example using the wizard:

  • ProfileèNewèV5.xèv51_simu_an_e1.acpèFilter?èv5.acf

Profile resulting from the wizard is ready for monitoring in the C-channels over TS 16 and 15

  • Modifications to apply to the profile about physical interface:
    • E1 options: CRC4 multi-frame is normally used over V5 (selected by default ).
Deselect it if not used (Interface SpecsèLinkèOptions).
  • Modifications to apply to the profile about PSTN signalling:
    • Changing the dialed number: Generator / Comm1 / Edit / Called Party Number/Coding

Saving the profile under a new name:

  • ProfileèSave asèfilename.acp.

Running the profile

To launch the profile:

  • Select Profile->Run or click over horse_on.gif (968 octets) . It allows to select the name of profile. See Running a profile
  • The window of the Event-Editor is automatically opened

Troubleshooting over PRI

  • No messages displayed on the Event-Editor windows. Check if the Alarms line have an indication such as ' -+ FL' or '++FL' meaning that no signal is detected.
  • The protocol messages are displayed on the wrong directions: the E1 pair connected to the A and B port are the reverse side.
