How to monitor the ISDN-D channel over BRI U/S-T

Monitoring  the ISDN-D channel is one of the features directly covered by the templates included in  Clarinet Run-Time.

Connecting the unit

The Clarinet Book USB U/S-T uses one of the interfaces:

  • U: the "From LT" RJ45 and the "From NT" RJ45 connectors. See:  pin-out
  • S/T: one of the "S/T Bus" RJ45 connectors. See:  pin-out

Setting the test conditions for BRI

A new profile can be created  with the Wizard from the Template list by selecting:

  • Profile->New->ISDN......See: building
    • ETSI
    • ATT
  • Profile with a description including ISDN, Monitor, PH=S/T or U, SL=Q931
    • ETSI
    • ATT
  • Filter with a description including  SL= Q931, DL=BOP

Example using the wizard:

  • ProfileèNewèISDNèETSIèisdn_mon_s0.acpèFilter?èisdn_etsi_bop.acf
  • ProfileèNewèISDNèATT-5ESSèatt_mon_u.acpèFilter?èisdn_att_etsi_bop.acf

Profile resulting from the wizard is ready for Q931 or X25 monitoring in the D channel on BRI.

Saving the profile under a new name:

  • ProfileèSave asèfilename.acp.

Running the profile

To launch the profile:

  • Select Profile->Run or click over horse_on.gif (968 octets) . It allows to select the name of profile. See Running a test
  • The windows of the Event-Editor is automatically opened.

To stop the profile

  • Click over horse_off.gif (975 octets)  See: Stopping a test
  • The window of the Event-Editor is automatically close

Troubleshooting over BRI U/S-T

  • No messages displayed on the Event-Editor windows over BRI U/S-T interface. Check PH events.
